Our company was founded with a higher purpose; we donate socks to the homeless. Of course we also need to sell socks, if we are going to give them away.
With every order placed for our socks we donate socks to shelters all across America. They tell us socks are the number one need for folks living on the street.
The State of Homelessness in America
The research company IBIS World provides data for thousands of industries across the globe. According to their latest survey for 2021 there are 1,127 Community Housing and Homeless Shelter businesses in the United States. That is up 3% from 2020. New York has the most homeless shelters, with 982, and California is not far behind, with 885 homeless sheltering businesses. Even the southern states are not immune to the growing homeless population. Texas has 429 businesses providing for the needs of the homeless. Every state is experiencing a growth in individuals and families seeking shelter.
According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness, two-thirds of shelter residents are individuals, and 9% are veterans. There are an estimated two hundred thousand individuals sleeping outdoors or in locations not meant for human habitation. Through local human resource and outreach programs we donate socks to homeless individuals living on the streets, as well as those in shelters. Sadly, more and more families are experiencing homelessness. This is due to eviction because they cannot pay the rent. Through no fault of their own they have lost their job due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Together, We Can Make a Difference!
In addition to the need for shelter and food, they need clothing, both for adults and a growing number of homeless children.
When we donate socks to homeless shelters we know it helps those down on their luck get back on their feet.
Our goal is to make a donation to every one of them, and with your help we can do it this year.
With every order placed for our socks we donate socks to homeless shelters all across America. The shelters we work with tell us socks are the number one most requested item by folks living on the street.
Whether you order just a couple of dozen pairs of socks for yourself, or ten dozen for your team, business, or your own charity, we donate socks to homeless as well. You will feel good, knowing your purchase is doing good for those less fortunate.
